About Us
On February 11, 2020 the Chattanooga Interagency Council on Homelessness (CICH) approved Signal Centers as the lead agency to provide backbone support which includes guiding strategy, supporting aligned activities, establishing shared measurement, cultivating community engagement and ownership, advancing policy, and mobilizing resources. On April 1, 2020, the director of Homeless Services was hired to lead the effort and provide leadership, support, and coordination to implement the CICH 2018 Action Plan and reduce homelessness in Chattanooga.
Mary Ellen Galloway
Director of Homeless Services at Signal Centers
Mary Ellen Galloway has 21 years of experience in homeless and social services in Chattanooga. She has an extensive background
in administration and management of non-profit organizations. Mary Ellen is the lead staff person for CICH. She has experience in fundraising and development, strategic planning, and has been a trusted collaborator with many local organizations.
Mary Ellen has a M.Ed from the University ofTennessee at Chattanooga, a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work. She is a licensed professional counselor and a graduate of Leadership Chattanooga.
Mary Ellen has served on local boards and has worked with local groups that serve individuals, families and veterans who are homeless.
